Each embassy has different requirements for minors, please enquire for the necessary documents for embassy submission.

When leaving South Africa border and re-entering you will require the following for minors travelling alone, with one parent or with both parents:

  • A fully completed Parental Consent Affidavit (Department of Home Affairs)
  • Unabridged Birth Certificate (certified)
  • Certified copies of both parents valid South African Identity Cards
Passports need to be valid for at least 6 months after the return date to South Africa.
You need to immediately go the South African Embassy abroad and they will assist you.
You need to have at least four blank pages available in your valid passport.
We do offer assistance in renewing your passport however, you will still need to appear in person and we cannot collect passports on your behalf at Department of Home Affairs.
Some documents need to be certified and this is dependent on each embassy. We will advise you on what will need certification.
All original documents like unabridged birth certificates and marriage certificates are returned. Supporting documents like bank statements, flight itinerary’s, letters of employment, etc are kept by most embassies and you will only receive the passport with your visa back from the embassy.

Travel Insurance is compulsory at most embassies for the duration of your travel. Travel Insurance can be obtained through a number of ways:

  • Speak to your travel agent to arrange the travel insurance
  • Speak to your bank to arrange the travel insurance on your credit card
  • Speak to your medical aid as most medical aid offer automatic international travel insurance if you are a member
Each embassy is different but a general guideline is 3 months before travel.
If you are travelling via another country to your final destination some countries will require a transit visa for your stop over. Enquire with us whether you need a transit visa for your stop over to the final destination.
Most embassies offer a tracking service on your application, however if you use our services you will be kept abreast on progress at all times.
Some embassies do require that you submit personal bank statements regardless of whether the company or sponsor is paying for the trip. The submission of personal bank statements is also for the embassy to assess that you are actually living in South Africa, that you have an income paid into your account monthly and that you incur living expenses. The request for personal statements is not just to assess whether you have money for the trip.
Some embassies do require that you appear in person. We will advise on whether you need to appear or not.
Visa fees are not refundable. Therefore, even if you apply for your visa and then cancel the application, as a general rule embassies will not refund. There are only a few embassies that may refund if you cancel your application.

No embassy will refund if a visa is refused.
